18th Edition Wiring Regulations Course

18th Edition (City & Guilds 2382-18) wiring regulations course  is available from July 2018 onward. City & Guilds will release full  details of the course later this spring or in the summer and then we will know the course dates and the length of the course. Please notice City & Guilds have informed there will not be a specific update course for the individuals who already have completed 17th Edition wiring regulations course.

We are predicting there will be few new areas such as Energy efficiency which provides recommendations for erection and design of electrical installations. With the information we have received so far, we are forecasting the course will involve the next points:

 

  • Scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671:2018
  • Electrical definitions
  • Special installations or locations
  • Energy efficiency
  • Use of the information within BS7671:2018 appendices
  • Requirements of protection for electrical safety
  • Selection and erection of equipment
  • Electrical inspection and testing
  • Assessment of general characteristics
  • Assessment includes a two hour online multiple-choice exam
  • Protection against transient over voltage
  • Protection against fire – installation of arc fault detection devices (AFDD)
