What's involved in the 18th Edition Electrical Course
Electrical Regulations Theory
Our learners will learn about the structure of the IET Wiring regulations BS7671 and how to find out information to check that an installation meets the requirements. This Course lasts 3 days, so 2.5 days will be dedicated to learning about the regulations and on the afternoon of the 3rd day, the 18th Edition online exam will be taken place.

This course is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. gas engineers and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations
The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) are the definitive standards for the electrical industry in respect of safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. They set requirements and operating criteria for the UK and correspond to EC standards and are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671).
The course is intended to teach individuals who may work around or on electrical installations about the structure and the requirements for Electrical Installations Wiring regulations BS 7671: 2018.
The 18th Edition Electrical Course will last 3 days with a 2 hour online multiple choice exam taken on the afternoon of the 3rd day.
This course is all theoretical learning which is structured around the Regulations in a classroom (no practical). There is 8 units to study, 7 relate to the parts and 1 to the appendices of the BS7671 IET regulations.
If you are working in the electrical industry, then you need to be working to the standards of the BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations. The best way to prove that you have the most up-to-date knowledge of the BS7671 is to hold this qualification.
This qualification is also a requirement for joining a competent person scheme such as NICEIC or Napit and to apply for or renew your JIB gold card.
